Sessions Description
In these weekly sessions young people participate in Nature oriented activities building skills gradually at their own pace. Activities are part of the developing and sustaining our Outdoor Educational Community Hub, which contributes to a better, healthier community with opportunities for neighbours all ages and larger London population to get closer to nature, benefiting from its resources. Activities during sessions include the following categories: - Gardening: plant and maintain a fully organic green space. - Forest School: build self-esteem, confidence and improving behaviour and communication skills through self-initiated, participant-led tasks & projects. - Bushcraft: learn survival skills, using hand tools, natural materials and ancient techniques. - Environmental Education: learn about the natural environment and intervene responsibly in local green spaces and beyond. - Environmental awareness: learn sustainable practices and skills whilst relating to wider environmental challenges. - Youth Leadership: develop skills to take initiatives, role modelling, effective communication and caring for others and the environment. - Personal Development: learn and practice responsibility for own health & wellbeing as well as organisational skills, learning about own strength and own points in which to develop. This Youth Club is suitable and ideal for: - Teens looking for an introduction to careers in environmental conservation and environmentally sustainable practices, - Youths looking for an introduction to horticulture, wildlife studies and other natural sciences, - Young people interested in an introduction to become Forest School Leader, looking forward to achieve a Level 1 certification (at 14 years old) - Families looking into obtaining AQA Units Awards certifications for skills their children have already gained -or working towards- during their participation in Forest School and other outdoor activities. - Young people inclined or interested in manual skills such as arts and crafts and similar trades using sustainable/natural materials and tools, - Young people looking to develop their leadership and interpersonal skills - Or simply for those who enjoy the outdoors and like to share time with like-minded peers. Sessions are booked in advance.
