Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles
 
Suitable for all ages but delivered with young people over 14 years old in mind this is a brilliant opportunity to those youths who grew up participating in outdoor activities and are interested in continuing their journey into Forest School.
Also suitable for people with no experience but with love for the environment, teaching and learning in nature.
 
This introduction to the Forest School Leader qualification consists of 5 Units:
 
1. Understand the Forest School approach to learning
2. Be able to participate in the Forest School experiences.
3.Understand methods of identification of woodland species.
4. Understand how Forest School impacts on the woodland environment
5. Understand hazards at Forest School
 
This course consists in 1 week of mandatory in person practical training and following up face to face meetings to emphasise and comprehend through practice the theoretical concepts and building of student portfolio.

For candidates 14-18 years old we have a range of purposeful sessions where the young person can share activities and residential experiences with other teenagers as part of their training.
